About the Department
Under general supervision, works with supervisors, engineers and operations to optimize work planning; including but not limited to projects, corrective, preventative, and predictive maintenance utilizing a computerized maintenance management program.
Position Duties
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate’s Degree; with a focus in mechanical, HVAC, electrical trade or a related field; and
- Three (3) years of experience with routine to complex repair and maintenance of mechanical/electrical equipment; or
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

- Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license issued by the State of Iowa or evidence of equivalent mobility.
- Possession of an Iowa grade II wastewater license within 24 months of appointment.

- Utilizes, adapts and maintains a preventative maintenance program.
- Plans, prioritizes, and identifies resources and skills required, materials needed and work steps necessary to complete the job.
- Maintains detailed records of work to be performed, along with time and material used and/or required.
- Releases preventive maintenance work orders and verifies they are prepared for scheduling.
- Evaluates completed work orders to determine appropriate time allowances and materials used and modifies work plans as needed.
- Communicates with equipment manufacturers and vendors regarding all stages of equipment life for purposes of maintenance, repair or replacement.
- Implements standard maintenance principles and practices.
- Maintains bill of material records, drawings, reference books, permits, and lockout procedures for equipment.
- Maintains equipment, tools, and work area in a safe, clean and orderly condition.
- Ensures the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of the Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) database.
- Assists in the development of safety policies and procedures and shall play a key role in ensuring employee use of safe work practices.
- Performs other related duties as required.
