Skilled Maintenance Supervisor - Parks Maintenance
About the Job: In this role, you will oversee a team of Skilled Maintenance Technicians across multiple skilled trades responsible for maintaining park infrastructure. The focus area for this team spans the entire Parks system and includes supervising plumbing, electrical systems, mechanical systems, equipment maintenance, spray grounds, pools, and heavy equipment operation within the Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Services Department.
Note: In this position you may be required to be on-call and to coordinate emergency/disaster situations.

As a Skilled Maintenance Supervisor for our Parks Maintenance team, you will:- Select, train, supervise, and evaluate assigned staff; direct, coordinate, and review the work plan for skilled maintenance, and repair services
- Prioritize, schedule and coordinate the operational activities of assigned staff, third party contractors, other divisions, outside agencies, and the public
- Assign work activities; monitor workflow; inspect, review, and evaluate work products, methods, and procedures; and meet with staff to identify and resolve problems
- Develop and administer your assigned budget; participate in the forecast of funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials, projects, and supplies; monitor and approve expenditures; and implement adjustments
- Oversee and ensure compliance with city, county, state, and federal rules, regulations, and Park standards
- Research and order necessary materials and supplies
- Assign and track work through asset management program software
- Answer questions from citizens; resolve complaints, problems, and concerns
- Reconcile monthly billing and account management for assigned team and budget

We are looking for candidates who demonstrate:Knowledge of:- Maintenance methods and techniques related to spray-ground and pool operations, heavy equipment use, plumbing systems including backflow prevention and meter pits, electrical systems, and general equipment maintenance
- Equipment, materials, chemicals, and supplies used in facility maintenance
- Pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations
- Preventative maintenance requirements and life cycle best practices
- Work order and inventory management systems
- Occupational hazards and standard safety practices
Ability to:- Stay current on new trends, innovations, and technology specific to park infrastructure maintenance
- Oversee multiple projects and staff
- Communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Read and respond to multiple emails daily
- Proficiently use Microsoft Office Suite
Position Duties
- High school diploma or GED
- Five (5) years of full-time facility repair or mechanical maintenance experience
- One year of administrator and/or supervisory experience

- Facility and mechanical maintenance experience in a municipal government setting
- Specialized technical training related to facility and mechanical maintenance
- Contract administration and oversight experience
- Experience in electrical, mechanical, and plumbing work
- Possess trade certification as a journeyman in any skilled trade or equivalent
- Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP)
- Asset Management experience

Physical Demands: This position requires the ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally, 10 pounds frequently, and walking or standing to a significant degree.
