What does a day "in the life" look like for this role?
- Review plans and perform field inspections on residential and commercial projects to ensure compliance with building codes and approved specifications.
- Interpret codes and provide clear guidance to contractors, builders, and the public to support safe and compliant construction.
- Document inspections, maintain accurate records, and prepare reports to track project progress and code compliance.
- Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to resolve issues, answer questions, and keep projects moving forward efficiently.
Qualifications Required for Consideration:
- One (1) year of experience as a Building Inspector performing code compliance inspections within a municipal or professional setting.
- Three (3) years of experience in the construction trades.
- Possession of or ability to obtain within one (1) year of hire date, a minimum of three (3) of the following inspection certifications: International Code Council (ICC) Building, ICC Plumbing, ICC Electrical, ICC Residential, or ICC Mechanical. Certification must be current and maintained during term of employment.
- A High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Possession of a valid driver's license and be insurable under the City of Branson's motor vehicle coverage when operating a vehicle as a part of the position.
- Be able to pass a background investigation and drug and alcohol screenings.

- Graduation from an accredited technical school program in the construction trades.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: The starting hourly wage is $23.48 per hour and will increase to $24.42 per hour after 6 months of successful probation.
