Looking for a fun, active summer job where you can spend your days outdoors and make a positive impact in your community? Join our team as a Splash Pad Attendant at Story Mill Park! This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently, staying active, and helping create a safe, clean, and enjoyable environment for visitors of all ages. As a Splash Pad Attendant, you’ll play a key role in keeping the facility running smoothly and safely.

Work Week: Flexible schedule of 20 hours/week. Operational hours will be Monday-Friday from 10:30am to 8:30pm.
Wage: $22/hour
Bargaining Unit: None
Fair Labor Standards Act Status: Non-Exempt

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintains a clean and safe facility, including changing filter baskets, cleaning restrooms, emptying trash receptacles, and ensuring the splash pad and surrounding areas are clear of potentially dangerous objects or situations.
  • Enforces splash pad rules and regulations for efficient and safe operation of the facility.
  • Tests chemical balance in water and changes to water chemistry as directed.
  • Responds to citizens’ questions and comments in a courteous and timely manner.
  • Communicates and coordinates regularly with on-call Certified Pool Operator (CPO) as well as Aquatic Management to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Performs other directly related duties consistent with the role and function of the classification.

Position Duties

  • Must be at least 15 years old.
  • Offers for employment are conditional upon satisfactory completion of the conditional offer process including, but not limited to, a criminal background check, thorough reference checks, and a general internet search.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate effectively with others, both orally and in writing, using both technical and non-technical language.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and/or written policies, procedures, and instructions.
  • Ability to operate a personal computer using standard or customized software applications appropriate to assigned tasks.
  • Ability and willingness to quickly learn and put to use new skills and knowledge brought about by rapidly changing information and/or technology.
  • Demonstrates integrity, initiative, and inventiveness in the performance of assigned tasks.
  • Consistently performs assignments in accordance with the City’s Core Values of Integrity, Leadership, Service and Teamwork.
