As a Wastewater Collection Maintenance Worker I for the City of Borger, you are integral to the daily operations and maintenance of the wastewater collection system. Position Duties

- Blockage Removal: Respond to and clear blockages within the wastewater collection system using specialized tools and equipment.
- Inspection and Monitoring: Conduct regular inspections of the collection system to identify and report potential issues or damage.
- Equipment Operation: Operate basic mechanical equipment used in the maintenance and repair of the wastewater system.
- Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and environmental regulations during maintenance activities to prevent incidents and ensure public and environmental safety.
- Support and Collaboration: Assist more experienced workers in complex maintenance tasks and projects as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certifications in wastewater management is a plus.
- Experience: Prior experience in maintenance, construction, or related field is beneficial but not required.
- Certifications: Must possess or be able to obtain a Wastewater Collection System Operator Certification from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) within a designated timeframe.
- Skills: Basic knowledge of wastewater systems, ability to use hand and power tools, physical stamina for manual labor.
