The City of Aurora is accepting applications for unpaid intern positions for the Summer and Fall in various Departments throughout the City. Departments may include but are not limited to:
- Community Services Department:
- Community Engagement
- Innovation & Strategy
- Public Art
- Youth Services
- Engineering
- Human Resources
- Information Technology
- Mayor’s Office
- Sustainability
- Law
- Emergency Management Agency
Who We’re Looking For:
- College students seeking real-world experience in local government
- Problem-solvers with a passion for civic engagement
- Organized and proactive individuals excited to contribute to city initiatives
Internship Highlights:

Qualifications:
- Must be enrolled in an Associates, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree program or have graduated within the previous six months.
- Requires a valid driver’s license.
Interviews will be held mid-late May.
Summer internships will begin around early June – August
Fall internships will begin at the end of August/early September – December.
Days will vary depending on the department’s needs, special events, and/or project completion. Hours will range between 10 – 40 hrs./week and can last 10 – 12 weeks.
This is an unpaid position. Must successfully pass a background check.
