Do you love telling visual stories that inform, connect, and inspire? The City of Arvada is seeking a Digital Content Producer to plan, create, and deliver high-quality multimedia content that connects our community to City services, initiatives, and each other.
In this role, you’ll produce engaging video, photography, and digital content across platforms—from social media and the web to broadcast and print, while helping bring the City’s stories, people, and values to life.

Essential Job Functions
Produces long and short-form video content tailored for social, web, and broadcast platforms.
Applies creative and modern storytelling techniques to everyday video and graphic assignments.
Adapts content for social media platforms, including editing different aspect ratios, optimizing for engagement and aligning with platform-specific best practices.
Captures still photographs for use in social media, digital presentations, print, and television.
Creates basic motion graphics and visual design elements that align with city brand standards.
Produces and formats promotional, documentary, and event-related content with an emphasis on accessibility and engagement.
Operates professional video and audio equipment in studio and field settings, including lighting, microphones, drones and other broadcast tools.
Troubleshoots and operates live broadcast equipment, providing support for rotating coverage of City Council meetings and other public-facing events.
Collaborates with departments to understand content goals and develop story-driven creative solutions.
Maintains technical quality and consistency in all video and multimedia assets.
Creates, formats and exports digital assets for a variety of platforms and resolutions.
Assists in maintaining digital content archives and managing media files.
Frequently operates a personal or City-owned motor vehicle to travel to and from work locations throughout the City.

Participates in creative planning sessions and contribute ideas for future content.
Supports emergency communications through livestreams and digital alerts.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to plan, coordinate and direct talent on a production set.
Ability to write, film and video edit clear, engaging, and brand aligned content.
Proficient in video editing software (e.g. Adobe Premiere Pro) and still photography.
Intermediate design skills for creating content in tools like After Effects, Photoshop, Canva, and Illustrator.
Strong visual storytelling skills adapted for social media and short-form formats.
Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail, especially in proofreading graphics and checking edits.
Effective written and verbal communication with team members and internal clients.
Willingness to receive and apply feedback to improve creative output.
Ability to operate a motor vehicle safely.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Preferred
Familiarity with accessibility best practices (e.g. closed captions, audio descriptions and transcripts).
Licensed drone operator / ability to obtain drone license.
Experience in on-air production or livestream support.

The City of Arvada does not offer benefits to temporary and/or seasonal employees. Temporary, Variable Hour and Health Plan Eligible employees will earn 1 hour of sick leave for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum cap of 48 hours.
