Oversee and coordinate marketing activities for an assigned department to include marketing research, promotion and customer service; implement program goals and objectives; initiate, administer and manage contracts related to advertising and/or marketing activities; solicit endorsements in support of assigned department programs; and perform a variety of professional tasks in support of assigned area of responsibility.

Position Duties

- Oversee and coordinate marketing activities including research, advertising, promotion, special projects and customer service.
- Recommend and assist in the implementation of goals and objectives; establish schedules and methods for providing marketing services; implement policies and procedures.
- Monitor program performance; recommend and implement modifications to systems and procedures.
- Initiate, administer and manage contracts related to advertising and/or marketing activities; coordinate contract development and signatory activities; verify contract specifications for clients.
- Direct, coordinate and review work plan for assigned area; assign work activities and projects; monitor work flow; review and evaluate work products, methods and procedures.
- May select, train and evaluate lower level staff; meet with staff to identify and resolve problems and correct deficiencies.
- Solicit endorsements in support of assigned department programs; identify and contact representatives of local and regional organizations to promote utilization of facilities and services.
- Promote and coordinate specific marketing activities; prepare facility marketing materials including news releases, flyers, schedules of events, pamphlets, window displays, signs and brochures.
- Organize, schedule and implement assigned department activities and other related programs.
- Oversee and participate in the design and implementation of innovative promotional marketing campaigns.
- Promote an active customer service orientation through effective use of internal and external communications.
- Develop and implement an annual marketing plan including upcoming activities and evaluations of the previous year's marketing activities.
- Develop and coordinate market research projects to assist in the accomplishment of overall goals of the department.
- Maintain records and develop reports concerning new or on-going programs and program effectiveness; maintain and file marketing reports; prepare statistical reports as required.
- Participate in the preparation and administration of assigned budget; submit budget recommendations; monitor expenditures.
- May be responsible for the continued certification and overall coordination and management of the Keep Albuquerque Beautiful program. Provide cost/benefit analysis and other statistical reports to national Keep America Beautiful organization, the State of New Mexico and the City of Albuquerque.
- May oversee and coordinate efforts of a volunteer executive board, and four subcommittees consisting of concerned citizens, business representatives, neighborhood association members and government agencies.
- May act as spokesperson for assigned department.
SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:- Monitor program compliance with laws, rules and regulations related to provision of marketing, advertising and related services.
- Maintain awareness of new developments in the field of marketing; incorporate new developments as appropriate into programs.
- Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and experience directly related to the minimum requirements below may be interchangeable on a year for year basis.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in marketing, communications, business administration, psychology, or sociology; and
Five (5) years of marketing experience; and
To include two (2) years of supervisory experience.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License, or the ability to obtain by date of hire.
Possession of a City Operator's Permit (COP) within six (6) months from date of hire.

Essential and supplemental functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for walking, standing or setting for prolonged periods of time.
