Role Description The City Manager role at Satya Retail is a full-time, on-site position based in Gurugram. The City Manager oversees end-to-end retail operations within the city, including store performance, staffing, sales targets, and customer experience. Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring key metrics, guiding store managers, optimizing inventory and merchandising, and ensuring adherence to company processes and standards. The role involves coordinating with central teams for marketing, supply chain, and finance, resolving operational issues, and implementing local initiatives to grow market share. The City Manager is also responsible for building and mentoring high-performing teams, maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements, and driving continuous improvement in city-level operations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in multi-store or city-level retail operations management, with a track record of meeting sales and performance targets.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, including team building, coaching, performance management, and conflict resolution.
- Ability to analyze operational and financial data, use insights to make decisions, and implement action plans to improve efficiency and profitability.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and levels.
- Experience in inventory management, merchandising, and customer service standards within a retail environment.
- Comfort with on-site work across multiple store locations in Gurugram, including regular field visits and operational oversight.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Retail Management, or a related field; an advanced degree or relevant certifications are an advantage.
- Familiarity with retail systems and tools (POS, inventory management software, reporting dashboards) and good proficiency in MS Excel and other productivity tools.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing business needs and city-level challenges.
