The Role
City Cast is hiring a Lifecycle Marketing Strategist to drive the next phase of City Cast DC’s member growth, engagement and retention. City Cast DC is launching premium subscriber content and we need a smart, creative, data-driven person to build the end-to-end user journey from onboarding, conversion, loyalty, and retention to the City Cast Neighbors program. This person will collaborate with the City Cast DC content team, City Cast’s product and operations team, and will report to the Membership Manager.
This is a high-impact, high-autonomy role for someone who wants to build a lifecycle program in a collaborative, fast moving environment. You'll have a real say in what City Cast DC's subscription product looks like, and you'll see the results of your work directly in the community you serve. This role will work almost exclusively with City Cast DC to start, but has potential to bring lifecycle strategy and execution to the rest of the company down the line.
Deadline to apply: May 12, 2026
What You’ll Do
- Own mid-funnel and bottom-funnel lifecycle strategy: trial-to-paid conversion, renewal, churn prevention, and win-back
- Build automated, behaviorally-driven lifecycle journeys and ad hoc campaigns across email, website, podcast and social
- Identify opportunities for AI integration across lifecycle workflows
- Help shape the structure and packaging of City Cast DC's subscription tiers and value proposition
- Partner with editorial and audience teams to promote subscriber benefits like original paywalled content, member events, swag, etc.
- Maintain clear project plans to translate to the larger team
- Identify key audience segments to track and target
- Own day-to-day CRM and ESP execution — segmentation, sends, automation builds, and list health
- Write or closely direct copy for all lifecycle touchpoints: emails, landing pages, in-podcast CTAs, and renewal reminders
- Track and report on core subscription metrics: conversion rate, churn rate, LTV, and net subscriber growth
- Translate data into clear recommendations and share findings with key stakeholders
