Key Responsibilities
- Assist in sourcing activities by collecting quotes, preparing cost comparison sheets, and supporting negotiations.
- Create and release purchase orders in SAP and ensure accurate documentation.
- Follow up with suppliers for on-time delivery and update delivery schedules.
- Support planning and inventory control to avoid stockouts and excess materials.
- Maintain supplier records, certifications, and performance data.
- Support new supplier onboarding and compliance documentation.
- Coordinate with quality and suppliers for minor quality issues and closures.
- Track and report KPIs like OTIF, shortages, and delays.
- Assist in vendor evaluation, price updates, and rate contract administration.
- Participate in process improvement and Kaizen activities.
- Prepare regular MIS reports and presentations for SCM.
- Support logistics coordination for incoming materials.
- Ensure adherence to procurement and sourcing policies.
Candidate Requirements
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• Basic knowledge of procurement and supply chain processes
• Understanding of machining or fabrication components preferred
• Familiarity with SAP or ERP system is desirable
• Good communication and coordination skills
• Proficiency in MS Excel and reporting
• Detail-oriented, analytical, and eager to learn
• Capable of working with cross-functional teams
Education & Experience
• BE / B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering
• 1 to 4 years of experience in procurement or supply chain roles in a manufacturing setup
• Experience in pumps / rotating equipment is an added advantage
