Job details:
We’re creating for an emerging fashion label with a distinct creative point of view — shaped by culture, storytelling, and thoughtful design, with a strong focus on cinematic content that feels premium, emotionally resonant, and platform-native.
We’re looking for a Videographer who can plan and execute fashion and lifestyle brand films. This is not a basic shoot role. We need someone who thinks like a filmmaker — capable of handling everything from pre-production planning to final footage delivery.
Strong editing skills are a major advantage, especially for carrying the creative vision from shoot through to the final film.
You should understand how to create visually striking content for modern digital platforms, especially Instagram, without compromising cinematic quality.
Key Responsibilities
1.Pre-Production & Shot Planning
- Translate creative briefs into clear shot lists and execution plans
- Plan shot sequences, time of day, light conditions, and shoot flow
- Understand how footage will come together in the final edit
2.Storytelling & Cinematic Shot Understanding
- Tell stories through visuals alone
- Sequence shots intentionally: environment, subject, moments, close
- Understand wide, mid, close-up, and insert shots — and when to use each
3.Cinematic Composition & Framing
- Strong eye for depth, layering, and visual balance
- Comfortable framing wide environmental shots, human moments, and detail close-ups
- Able to shoot both 9:16 vertical and 16:9 horizontal without losing composition quality
4.Natural Light Mastery
- Understand golden hour, overcast diffusion, indoor window light, and shadows
- Position subjects and choose angles based on available light
- Create premium visuals without depending on artificial setups
5.Camera Movement & Stability
- Smooth, intentional movement
- Slow tracking shots, controlled pans, stable locked-off frames
- Skilled with gimbals, tripods, and sliders
6.Shallow Depth of Field & Lens Awareness
- Understand aperture, focal length, and sensor impact on visual look
- Know when to use wider lenses vs longer lenses for mood and detail
- Comfortable creating shallow focus and cinematic depth
7.Texture & Detail Capture
- Capture fabric folds, hand movement, surfaces, textures, architecture, and subtle moments
- Understand that inserts and detail shots elevate brand films
8.On-Set Direction
- Create a calm, efficient shooting environment
- Give simple direction to models / subjects
- Capture natural, unposed moments
9.Audio Capture (Basic)
- Capture clean ambient sound / room tone on location
- Basic understanding of mic placement and avoiding noise interference
Equipment Proficiency
- DSLR / Mirrorless camera systems (Sony, Canon or equivalent)
- Smartphones with strong pro-video capabilities
- Prime and zoom lens set
- Gimbal stabilizer, tripod, slider
- ND filters
- External recorder or on-camera mic
- Comfortable shooting in Log / Flat color profiles for grading flexibility
Portfolio Evaluation Criteria
Your portfolio / body of work should demonstrate:
- Fashion films
- Lifestyle brand content
- Editorial-style shoots
- Intentional composition
- Natural light usage
- Smooth camera movement
- Storytelling through sequencing
- Texture-focused detail shots
If most of your work is event coverage or generic fast-paced social content, this role may not be the right fit.
