Job Title: School Psychologist
Reports To: Special Education Program Supervisor and Building Administrators
Position Summary: To promote learning, growth, and development of all students and to provide support to
teachers, families, and administrators
Qualifications & Requirements:
● Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with a School Psychologist endorsement required
● Bilingual preferred (but not required)
● Ability to travel between district buildings as needed
Duties & Responsibilities:
● To work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, families, staff members, and outside agencies to
design and deliver a comprehensive, coordinated, and customized system of support for students
● To conduct student evaluations and screenings in a manner that is consistent with legal, professional,
and ethical standards. This includes using data from multiple sources, selecting appropriate assessment
tools with consideration of reliability and validity, and interpreting and reporting results in a timely and
sensitive manner
● To provide support and consultation to teachers, staff members and teams regarding data collection and
evidence-based interventions in academic, social emotional, and behavioral domains
● To participate as a team member and support the implementation of multi-tiered systems of support
(MTSS) to inform practices in Tiers I, II, and III for academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs
● To maintain assessment materials and student records in a manner that is organized, secure, and
complies with professional standards and legal guidelines
● To communicate with families, in verbal and written form, in a way that is understandable and sensitive
to individual characteristics such as cultural and linguistic diversity
● To provide direct services to students as needed, in collaboration with other mental health professionals,
including counseling, skill-based small group intervention, and crisis intervention
● To participate in professional development, including but not limited to SIP days, Institute days, and
building meetings
● To supervise school psychology practicum students and/or interns as assigned
● To perform other duties and assume responsibilities as may be assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities: As assigned by building administrators.
Working Environment: The job is performed under minimal temperature variations and is generally a hazard
free environment.

Physical requirements: Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer, other office
equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Terms of Employment:
Hours: Elementary 8:30am -3:30pm / Unity 7:45am-2:45pm
Work Year: 10 Months (School Year)
Compensation: $63,301.00-$74,423.00 (Starting Salary Commensurate with Experience and Education)
