Role Description The Child Psychologist will provide on-site psychological support and counseling to students at JP International School, located in Kanker. This full-time role involves conducting individual and group assessments, offering interventions for emotional, behavioral, and social challenges, and maintaining detailed case records. The Child Psychologist will collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and school leadership to design and implement student support plans, promote mental health awareness, and contribute to a safe, nurturing school environment. Daily responsibilities include administering psychological tests, developing personalized care strategies, facilitating workshops or guidance sessions, and participating in multidisciplinary meetings. The role also requires active involvement in creating preventive programs and crisis response protocols for student well-being.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Psychology and Child Psychology, with the ability to understand developmental, emotional, and behavioral needs of school-aged children.
- Experience in Psychological Testing and assessment, including administering, scoring, and interpreting standardized tools appropriate for children and adolescents.
- Knowledge of Mental Health principles, including early identification, intervention, and referral for emotional and behavioral concerns in an educational setting.
- Skills in Family Therapy and parent counseling, with the ability to collaborate effectively with families to support student well-being.
- Relevant academic qualification such as a Master’s degree or higher in Psychology/Clinical Psychology/Child Psychology from a recognized institution; registration or licensure as per applicable regulations is preferred.
- Previous experience working with children or adolescents in schools, hospitals, counseling centers, or similar environments.
- Excellent communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Capacity to manage confidential information responsibly, maintain professional ethics, and handle sensitive situations with empathy and discretion.
- Proficiency in creating reports, documentation, and maintaining structured case files; familiarity with CBSE school environments is an advantage.
