🐾 About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Chief Veterinary Officer (CVO) to lead and manage the IPD (In-Patient Department) and OPD (Out-Patient Department) operations at Utkarsh Animal Hospital. The CVO will be responsible for clinical excellence, team leadership, patient care standards, and smooth hospital functioning.
✅ Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership
- Oversee diagnosis, treatment, and surgical procedures across IPD & OPD
- Ensure high standards of veterinary care and animal welfare
- Handle critical cases and guide junior veterinarians
Department Management
- Lead veterinary doctors, interns, nurses, and support staff
- Plan duty rosters and ensure round-the-clock patient care
- Monitor case documentation, treatment protocols, and recovery progress
Operations & Quality Control
- Maintain SOPs, hygiene, safety, and hospital protocols
- Coordinate with operations/admin team for supplies and equipment
- Improve patient outcomes and workflow efficiency
Training & Mentorship
- Train junior vets and clinical staff
- Conduct clinical reviews and skill development sessions
Stakeholder Coordination
- Work closely with animal welfare teams, rescue partners, and management
- Support large-scale treatment programs and emergency responses
🎯 Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Veterinary Science (BVSc/MVSc)
- Minimum 5+ years of hands-on clinical experience
- Strong exposure to hospital-based IPD & OPD operations
- Leadership and team management skills
- Experience in surgery, emergency care, and critical cases preferred
- Passion for animal welfare and ethical veterinary practice
