Role Description This is a full-time, Hybrid/on-site role based in Hyderabad for a Chief Technology Officer / Director R&D. The role is responsible for defining and executing the company’s technology and R&D strategy, with a strong focus on products and platforms related to waste management and environmental technology. The CTO / Director R&D will lead cross-functional engineering and R&D teams, oversee end-to-end product development cycles, and ensure alignment of technology initiatives with business goals and sustainability objectives. Daily responsibilities include setting architectural standards, reviewing technical designs, guiding software and hardware development, and evaluating emerging technologies relevant to the company’s solutions. The role also involves collaborating closely with product, operations, and business teams, managing technology budgets, building partnerships with external vendors and research institutions, and ensuring robust governance, security, and scalability across all systems.
Qualifications
- Strong background in Product Development, mostly into Automation and Robotics with hands-on experience leading end-to-end product lifecycles.
- Proven ability in Technology Architecture, including designing scalable, secure, and maintainable systems.
- Demonstrated Project Management experience, leading cross-functional teams and delivering complex technology initiatives on time and within budget.
- Experience in R&D leadership, innovation management, and translating environmental or sustainability needs into technical solutions (experience in cleantech, IoT, or industrial systems is a plus).
- Master’s degree in Electronics/ Mechanical/ any Technical Degree in Core Technologies of Engineering, or a related technical field; advanced degrees are an advantage.
- Track record of building and mentoring high-performing technology teams, with inclusive and collaborative leadership style.
- Familiarity with modern development practices in Robotics, Automation and Mechatronics.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and strategic decision-making skills, with the ability to work closely with founders and senior leadership.
- Willing to Invest in R&D and Product Development.
