Role Overview
We are seeking a visionary Technical Co-Founder & CTO to lead the research, synthesis, and development of StealthCoat Nano—a disruptive, sprayable, nanostructured liquid coating providing dual-spectrum Radar Cross-Section (RCS) reduction and Infrared (IR) suppression for military drones and tactical assets [1].
As the technical pillar of this venture, you will own the entire chemical formulation roadmap, turning theoretical concepts into a physical, laboratory-validated prototype (TRL 4). You will partner directly with a business-focused founder (BMS) handling corporate strategy, funding, and defense procurement channels to build a high-growth deep-tech startup from the ground up.
Core Responsibilities
- R&D & Formulation: Design, synthesize, and optimize the liquid chemical matrix combining nanostructured RF absorbers (graphene/CNTs) and adaptive thermal dissipation pigments [1].
- Prototyping & Testing: Lead laboratory simulation modeling and physical testing to evaluate X-band/K-band radar absorption and near-infrared thermal suppression metrics [1].
- IP Creation: Author technical documentation, structure experimental data, and co-file provisional and permanent patents for the core chemical IP.
- Lab Operations: Spearhead technical milestones required for our upcoming incubation phase at SINE, IIT Bombay, utilizing advanced nanotechnology and metallurgical equipment.
- Scale-Up Preparation: Establish standard operating procedures (SOPs) to eventually transition laboratory batches into industrial contract-manufacturing protocols.
Qualifications & Experience
- Academic Background: Ph.D., Postdoc, or final-year M.Tech candidate in Material Science, Nanotechnology, Metallurgical Engineering, or Polymer Chemistry (IIT Bombay or premier research institutes preferred).
- Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of nanomaterial dispersion, functional coatings, polymer binders (polyurea/polyurethane), or electromagnetic wave-matter interactions.
- Mindset: A strong desire to move out of academic research and into the commercial startup ecosystem. Resilient, resourceful, and deeply interested in aerospace or national defense applications.
