Blue Ink House is a premium publishing house focused on fiction and non-fiction books. We are building a modern, technology-enabled publishing brand with a strong emphasis on digital systems, workflow automation, and scalable operations.
We are looking for a hands-on CTO who can take complete ownership of our technology foundation and help shape the company’s long-term digital strategy from the ground up.
Role Overview:
The CTO will lead all technology initiatives at Blue Ink House, including product architecture, system design, backend development, infrastructure, automation, data management, and long-term technical planning.
This is a high-ownership role for a builder who can work independently, move fast, and turn ideas into reliable systems. The ideal candidate is both strategic and deeply hands-on, with the ability to architect, build, and ship production-grade systems in a startup environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Own the overall technology strategy and technical roadmap for Blue Ink House.
Lead development of the core product and ensure timely execution of the MVP.
Review, improve, and manage the existing codebase and architecture.
Build and maintain backend systems, APIs, and internal platforms.
Design and implement scalable workflows for publishing, operations, and automation.
Architect reliable asynchronous systems for messaging, event handling, and background processing.
Integrate AI, voice, and automation tools where they create real business value.
Manage infrastructure, deployment, security, monitoring, and performance optimization.
Work closely with the founder to prioritize product decisions and technical execution.
Establish engineering standards, documentation practices, and deployment discipline.
Evaluate and manage third-party tools, cloud services, and technical vendors.
Prepare the technology stack for future growth, scale, and product expansion.
Core Technical Areas:
The CTO will be expected to take ownership of areas such as:
Backend engineering using Python or Node.js.
API development and system architecture.
Database design, indexing, and performance tuning.
Queue-based and event-driven architecture.
Webhook processing and stateful messaging systems.
Cloud infrastructure and deployment management.
AI integration for text, voice, and automation workflows.
Real-time communication systems such as WebSockets and WebRTC.
Security, logging, monitoring, and fault tolerance.
What We’re Looking For:
Strong hands-on experience in backend engineering and system architecture.
Proven ability to build and ship production systems quickly.
Deep understanding of scalable, reliable, and maintainable technology design.
Experience working with modern cloud infrastructure and developer tools.
Familiarity with LLMs, voice AI, and automation systems.
Comfort working in a fast-moving startup with limited resources and high responsibility.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to take full ownership.
Strong communication skills and a founder mindset
