About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on Chief Software Architect to lead the technology vision,
architecture, and engineering execution of our cloud-based SaaS EMR platform. This role
requires deep expertise in scalable SaaS product architecture, healthcare interoperability, and
modern full-stack development using AWS, React, and Python.
The ideal candidate has built and scaled multi-tenant cloud products, understands healthcare
compliance (HIPAA/GDPR), and can balance strategic technology leadership with hands-on
architectural decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Technology Strategy & Vision
● Define and execute the long-term technology roadmap aligned with product and
business strategy.
● Lead architecture design for a scalable, secure, multi-tenant SaaS EMR platform.
● Ensure high availability, performance optimization, and cloud cost efficiency.
Architecture & Engineering Leadership
● Design cloud-native architecture on AWS (microservices, containerization, serverless
where applicable).
● Define best practices for backend development using Python (FastAPI/Django) and
frontend using React.js.
● Architect secure APIs, integration frameworks, and third-party interoperability layers.
● Lead DevOps strategy (CI/CD, infrastructure as code, monitoring, observability).
● Ensure system scalability for multi-country, multi-clinic deployment.
Healthcare & EMR Expertise
● Architect EMR workflows (clinical, lab, pharmacy, billing).
● Implement interoperability standards such as:
○ HL7 / FHIR
○ DICOM (if radiology/ultrasound integration)
● Ensure compliance with:
○ HIPAA
○ GDPR
○ ISO 27001
○ Country-specific healthcare regulations
Security & Compliance
● Design secure RBAC models and multi-level permission systems.
● Implement data encryption (at rest and in transit).
● Define audit logs, traceability, and medico-legal compliance frameworks.
● Lead security audits and vulnerability assessments.
Team & Delivery Leadership
● Build and mentor a high-performance engineering team.
● Drive Agile/Scrum execution.
● Collaborate closely with Product, QA, DevOps, and Business stakeholders.
● Review code, architectural decisions, and technical documentation.
● Establish engineering KPIs and delivery governance.
Technical Requirements
Must Have
● 12+ years of software engineering experience.
● 5+ years in SaaS-based cloud product architecture.
● Strong expertise in:
○ AWS (EC2, RDS, Lambda, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, ECS/EKS)
○ Python (Django / FastAPI / Flask)
○ React.js (modern hooks, state management, performance optimization)
○ RESTful API design
○ Microservices architecture
○ PostgreSQL / MySQL
● Experience building multi-tenant SaaS platforms.
● Experience with DevOps pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Terraform, Docker,
Kubernetes).
● Strong understanding of system design, scalability, and distributed systems.
Good to Have
● Prior experience in Healthcare IT / EMR / HIS products.
● Exposure to interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR).
● Experience with AI/ML integration in healthcare systems.
● Experience scaling SaaS products globally.
● Experience in US/UK healthcare compliance frameworks.
