Job Description – Chief Security Officer – DPDA
Location: Mumbai
Department: Administration / Security
Reporting To: Senior Management / Business Head
Role Purpose
Lead the organisation’s security and DPDA compliance function, ensuring adherence to the
DPDA Act, applicable regulations, statutory requirements and prescribed security
processes. The role will manage security operations, regulatory documentation, inspections,
liaison with authorities, risk management and emergency preparedness.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure end-to-end compliance with the DPDA Act, rules, regulations and
prescribed procedures applicable to the organisation.
Maintain thorough knowledge of DPDA processes, licensing/permissions, statutory
submissions, renewals, inspections and regulatory requirements.
Manage all DPDA-related documentation, records, registers, reports and
correspondence and ensure timely submissions/renewals.
Liaise with DPDA authorities, police, fire department, local authorities and other
regulatory agencies for approvals, inspections, compliance and queries.
Monitor changes in the DPDA Act/regulations and ensure timely implementation of
revised requirements.
Lead security operations, including access control, visitor management,
surveillance, emergency response and incident management.
Conduct regular security and compliance audits, identify gaps and implement
corrective actions.
Manage security agencies, manpower deployment, training, performance and
statutory compliance.
Handle security incidents, investigations and regulatory reporting, ensuring
appropriate documentation and closure.
Develop and conduct emergency preparedness plans, mock drills and crisis-
management protocols.
Advise management on DPDA requirements, security risks, regulatory matters
and preventive measures.

High integrity, confidentiality and professional discipline
Qualification & Experience
Graduate; qualification/certification in Security, Risk or Disaster Management
preferred.
15–20+ years of relevant experience, with significant experience in DPDA-related
security, compliance and regulatory processes.
Candidates should have hands-on experience in DPDA Act compliance, statutory
documentation, inspections, permissions/renewals and liaison with DPDA
authorities.
Experience in corporate security, media/advertising, large establishments, high-
footfall environments or regulated organisations preferred.
Experience managing multiple locations, security teams, regulatory matters and
external security agencies will be an advantage.
