About the Role
With ZOOM’s expanding footprint across Media Services and soon to be launched Security/Surveillance/Defense Solutions and Consumer ventures, we are seeking to hire a transformational Chief People Officer (CPO) to solution, architect and lead The People Agenda. We are seeking an entrepreneurial, seasoned, strategically oriented CPO to join our leadership team at ZOOM Communications.
The CPO, a key member of a rapidly growing executive team, will drive the people strategy, organizational development, governance, and long-term human capital creation. This is a high-impact role suited for a people leader with a proven track record in large organizations and exposure to human capital development, culture building, performance and motivation management, conflict resolutions, as well as technical learning & development.
Location: Gurugram (Gurgaon)
Reporting To: Joint reporting to CEO and COO
Engagement Type: Full-Time
Team Size: 6 – 10
Key Responsibility Areas include are not limited to:
1. Business Partnering and Stakeholder Advisory:
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the Executive Team and Board, ensuring the HR strategy supports overall business objectives and growth across all business lines with specific emphasis on Media Services and Consumer verticals (neither of the two verticals are connected)
- Lead and drive organizational design initiatives which optimize productivity, strengthen operational efficiency and enhance overall organizational performance through ceaseless out of box thinking
- Lead HR due diligence for domestic and cross-border M&A transactions, ensuring international market entry and scaling with robust people, governance and compliance frameworks
- Strengthen HR governance policies and compliance frameworks
2. Coaching and Organizational Capability:
- Mentor and Coach - HR and other Business leaders across business units to embed a leadership development framework aligned with the needs of a diversified, multi-business enterprise. Mentoring and building the Zoom culture that eventually becomes embedded across the organization
- Leading strategic talent acquisition, building future ready leadership and strengthening the organization’s employer brand to attract, engage and retain high-quality talent aligned with business growth.
- Build teams and structures aligned to growth plans, expansion and transformation initiatives ensuring talent readiness for future business needs.
3. Learning & Development:
- Define and lead a future focused learning and development strategy aligned with business priorities, ensuring continuous upskilling and reskilling of the workforce
- Identify critical future skills and design targeted programs to build digital, functional and leadership capabilities for the organization
4. Culture and Diversity Builder:
- Shaping the organizational culture and driving large-scale change management and transformation initiatives, particularly ensuring digital and AI integration
- Lead and drive organizational design initiatives which optimize productivity, strengthen operational efficiency and enhance overall organization performance through ceaseless out of box thinking
- Spearhead DE&I strategies, enhance an inclusive workplace culture harnessing the power and perspectives of a diverse workforce, largely young and rooted in Indian realities. All verticals are services companies
- Integrate DE&I principles across the entire talent pool – while scaling up workforce efficiencies through building best talent, policies, measurable goals, and data driven interventions
5. High-Performance Culture Driver:
- Drive a high-performance culture by designing and implementing performance management frameworks, strengthening accountability and goal alignment.
- Develop high-potential talent and enhance organizational productivity through a high-performance and merit-driven culture.
Ideal candidate will:
- Have 20 + Years experience, with a substantive period of it in consumer and services industry
- Have at least 5 years in the top People leadership role [CHRO / Deputy CHRO equivalent] in a Services Firm
- Have an MBA in HR from a Tier 1 Institute (Mandatory)
- Undergraduate in Engineering (preferred)
- Have a proven and verifiable track record of implementing and optimising multi-level HR practices, transformation journeys, change management and organizational design initiatives
- Have some experience in organizational consulting at a top-tier management consulting firm
- Be a leader who has operated at scale, complexity and velocity, with proven exposure to M&A, international expansion and group-wide governance in various services industries
- Proven experience in leading business operations and large teams in operational roles, beyond purely COE/shared services responsibilities.
- Have been in the top leadership position in HR for a minimum period of 5 years
