Greetings from Headsource, Bangalore!
One of our Client with more than three decade of experience providing ODM Plus that combine engineering, manufacturing, and R&D whose serve global Clients in healthcare, aerospace, defense, energy, and transportation with services including IoT, AI, Cloud, and PCB assembly is on search for CHIEF OPERATION OFFICER.
Location: Kochi, Kerala
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Job Description :-
Seeking a technically astute and operationally driven Chief Operating Officer to lead
manufacturing and engineering operations. Unlike traditional COO roles that focus
purely on logistics, this position requires a leader with deep roots in Mechanical
Engineering and hands-on knowledge of CNC Machining and Electrical Systems.
Incumbent will bridge the gap between complex custom engineering and efficient production,
ensuring that our one-of-a-kind equipment is built to specification, on time, and within
budget. COO will oversee the entire lifecycle of our projects—from design feasibility and
fabrication to assembly, electrical integration, and final delivery.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Leadership & Strategy
Translate the company’s strategic vision into actionable operational plans for
manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain.
Oversee daily operations of the production floor, machine shop, and assembly units.
Drive P&L performance by optimizing resource allocation, reducing waste, and improving
job costing accuracy for custom projects.
2. Technical Oversight (Engineering & Machining)
Fabrication Strategy: Leverage your expertise in CNC Machining to optimize toolpaths,
reduce cycle times, and select the right tooling for complex mechanical parts.
Design for Manufacturing (DFM): Collaborate with the design team to ensure mechanical
drawings are viable for production, identifying potential electrical/mechanical interferences
early in the design phase.
Electrical Integration: Oversee the electrical assembly department, ensuring seamless
integration of control panels, PLCs, and wiring harnesses into mechanical assemblies.
3. Project Management & Delivery
Manage the timeline for multiple concurrent "Build-to-Order" projects.
Resolve technical bottlenecks on the floor immediately—whether it’s a tolerance issue on a
CNC mill or a wiring schematic error.
Implement strict Quality Assurance (QA) protocols for high-precision components.
4. Supply Chain & Procurement
Manage relationships with vendors for raw materials (steels, alloys) and specialized
electrical components (servos, sensors, controllers).
Decide on "Make vs. Buy" scenarios for machined parts based on internal capacity and
capability.
Required Qualifications
• Education & Technical Background:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s or MBA preferred).
Deep Technical Knowledge:
CNC Machining: Strong understanding of G-code, CAM software (e.g., Mastercam,
SolidWorks), and 3-axis/5-axis machining centers. You must understand what is machinable
and what isn't.
Electrical Systems: Functional knowledge of industrial automation, electrical schematics,
control panel build standards (UL/CE), and electromechanical integration.
Blueprints: Ability to read and critique complex GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and
Tolerancing).
