Role Description The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a full-time, on-site position based in Mumbai, responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations and driving operational excellence across all business units and training centers. The COO will translate the company’s strategic vision into executable operational plans, including business planning, process optimization, performance management, and cross-functional coordination. Responsibilities include leading and mentoring operations teams, ensuring high-quality delivery across centers, and implementing standardized operating procedures to support growth and scalability. The role will also involve managing budgets and financial performance, monitoring key metrics, and collaborating closely with the CEO and leadership team on long-term strategy. The COO will work with stakeholders in academics, sales, marketing, technology, and finance to enhance learner outcomes, center profitability, and overall organizational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Strong background in Operations Management, with experience leading multi-location or multi-unit operations in education, training, or related sectors.
- Proven expertise in Business Planning and strategic execution, including the ability to translate organizational goals into measurable operational plans.
- Demonstrated Analytical Skills to interpret data, track KPIs, and make evidence-based decisions that improve efficiency and outcomes.
- Solid understanding of Finance and Budgeting, including P&L management, cost optimization, and resource allocation.
- Extensive leadership and people-management experience, including building, coaching, and retaining high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Experience in the education, edtech, training, or services sector is highly desirable; familiarity with IT or digital skills training is an advantage.
- Graduate degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance, or a related field; an MBA or equivalent advanced degree is preferred.
- Proven track record of managing change, driving process improvements, and implementing scalable systems and best practices.
