THE OPPORTUNITY
Our Client is looking for a hands-on, high-ownership COO/Business Head to build and run the pharmaceutical vertical alongside the Founder and CEO. This is not a maintenance role. It is a builder's role — the kind that comes once in a career. The person who joins at this stage will be a core member of the founding team with commensurate equity, ownership, and long-term upside as the business scales.
WHAT YOU WILL BUILD & EXECUTE — WITH THE CEO/FOUNDER
Phase 1
— Market Entry (North India / Rajasthan)
— Lead the end-to-end setup of Pharma operations — from zero.
— Drive entry with small molecule drugs, identifying the right molecules for the Rajasthan and North India market.
— Define, structure and execute the go-to-market strategy across the priority therapeutic areas: · Cardiovascular · General Physician (GP) · Gynaecology · Oncology ·
Additional segments as identified through market demand analysis CDMO & Supply Chain
— Build the Backbone
— Identify, evaluate and onboard CDMO partners for manufacturing of small molecule drugs.
— Negotiate supply agreements, quality standards, and batch delivery timelines. — Build and manage the complete supply chain:
CDMO → stockist → distributor → pharmacy network → hospitals.
— Establish inventory, credit, and cash cycle policies across all nodes of the supply chain.
Medical Representative (MR) Force — Build, Train, Deploy
— Design the MR structure, territory allocation, call planning and reporting systems from scratch.
— Hire, train and manage the MR team; build a performance culture from Day 1. — Establish doctor engagement programs, detailing strategies and relationship protocols.
— Build key opinion leader (KOL) relationships across priority therapeutic segments.Regulatory, Licensing & Compliance
— Own all drug licensing, regulatory filings and compliance obligations end to end.
— Establish and maintain all necessary state and central licenses for distribution and marketing.
— Participate in and manage government tender processes — from identification through to execution. Technology, CRM & Operations
— Introduce and implement technology across the commercial and operational stack.
— Build or deploy a CRM system to track doctor visits, MR performance and prescription trends.
2. WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR Experience — Minimum 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry in a commercial or business leadership role.
— Experience managing doctors, MR teams, and the complete pharma supply chain (CDMO to end consumer).
— Prior participation in government tenders
— from preparation through execution.
— Has held a senior or managerial position in a company generating revenue above 100 Crore.
— Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teams alongside a founding or senior leadership team. Capabilities
Education — Minimum: Graduate degree (any discipline). — Preferred: MBA — a strong plus. — Additional advantage: Degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm / M.Pharm), Life Sciences, Biotechnology, or a related healthcare/science discipline.
