Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role located in Delhi, India, for the Chief Medical Officer at Canara HSBC Life Insurance. Responsibilities include overseeing medical affairs, ensuring effective utilization management, and driving the strategic planning and execution of healthcare policies. The Chief Medical Officer will collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure compliance, assess medical cases for insurance services, liason with Reinsurer to optimize risk assessment and consistent decisioning. Provide consultation and training to junior underwriters to enhance business operations.

Qualifications

  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience in Medicine and Medical Affairs.
  • Expertise assessing mortality risk and reviewing complex medical records.
  • Proven skills in Strategic Planning and Reinsurance alignment within insurance industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a commitment to ethical practices.
  • Medical degree (MBBS, MD or equivalent) with relevant certifications; prior experience in insurance or healthcare is desirable.
  • Excellent leadership, decision-making, and communication skills.
