We are currently rebuilding our Marketing Division and are seeking a hands-on Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) who will lead the entire marketing vertical from the ground up. This is a foundational leadership role with significant autonomy, growth potential, and direct access to company leadership.
Role Overview
The Chief Marketing Officer will be responsible for building, scaling, and leading the marketing division at Product Pursuit. This includes designing the marketing strategy, structuring the team, generating revenue, and positioning the company as a competitive force in digital marketing and growth consulting. You will work directly with the Co-Founders, CEO and Leadership Team, with full ownership of the Marketing Vertical and the freedom to build processes, recruit team members, and scale operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Build the Marketing Vertical
- Establish and lead Product Pursuit’s marketing division from scratch.
- Design the structure, processes, and operational framework for the marketing team.
- Recruit, mentor, and manage marketing specialists as the division grows.
2. Revenue & Client Acquisition
- Actively contribute to client acquisition and revenue generation.
- Collaborate with the sales team to convert inbound and outbound opportunities.
- Develop new marketing service offerings aligned with client needs.
- Support proposal creation, client pitching, and strategy presentations.
3. Strategic Marketing Leadership
- Define the company’s marketing and brand positioning.
- Lead initiatives across:
- Digital marketing strategy
- AI-driven SEO and LLM optimization
- Social media marketing
- Marketing automation
- Creative campaigns and brand development
- Oversee marketing strategies for both Product Pursuit and client projects.
4. Team & Operational Management
- Build and scale a high-performing marketing team.
- Define workflows, KPIs, and delivery standards.
- Coordinate closely with the IT/AI and Consulting Divisions.
5. Leadership Collaboration
- Work alongside Product Pursuit’s leadership team to shape company growth.
- Contribute to strategic decisions around new markets, services, and partnerships.
Compensation Structure
To align incentives with growth, this role includes a hybrid compensation model:
- Revenue-Linked Incentives: A share of revenue generated through marketing-led per client acquisition
- Salary: A healthy contribution from leadership sink funds to be rolled by Q3 2026 for Payrolls. (Prospect)
- Leadership Participation: Opportunity to contribute to strategic decision-making and long-term company growth with future access to stake.
Compensation will scale with the growth of the marketing vertical and client revenue generated.
Requirements
- 1–5 years of experience in marketing, growth, or digital strategy
- Proven experience in digital marketing, brand strategy, or growth marketing
- Ability to build and manage a team
- Strong understanding of modern marketing ecosystems including:
- Digital marketing platforms
- SEO and content strategy
- Marketing automation tools
- Social media and performance marketing
- Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to operate in a startup-style environment
- Excellent communication, presentation, and client engagement skills
- Ability to drive both strategy and execution
Preferred (Nice-to-Have)
- Experience working in agencies, startups, or consulting environments
- Exposure to AI-driven marketing, LLM optimization, or marketing analytics
- Experience in client acquisition, partnerships, or business development
- Ability to scale operations and build marketing systems
Additional Leadership Opportunity
Candidates may propose or bring along a Technical Marketing / Operations Lead to support the marketing division’s operational execution. This role would operate similarly to a technical counterpart to the CMO, working alongside our internal technical leadership.
