Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Business Development
• Develop and execute the long-term market development strategy aligned with the company's growth ambition.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities across leading two-wheeler OEMs and adjacent automotive segments.
• Build a robust opportunity pipeline for existing as well as emerging product categories.
• Drive customer acquisition and platform wins that contribute to long-term revenue growth.
OEM Relationship Management
• Develop trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across procurement, sourcing, engineering, R&D and business leadership within key OEM accounts.
• Position the company as a preferred development and technology partner rather than only a component supplier.
• Engage customers early in the product development cycle to improve business conversion opportunities.
• Build strategic account plans for key customers and identify opportunities for deeper engagement across multiple product categories.
Commercialisation of New Technologies
• Lead the market introduction of products developed through strategic international joint ventures.
• Develop compelling customer value propositions for technology-led products and engineered solutions.
• Work closely with global partners to adapt product positioning for the Indian automotive market.
• Accelerate customer adoption by demonstrating technical and commercial value.
Market Intelligence & Growth Strategy
• Track industry trends, technology evolution, regulatory developments and changing customer requirements.
• Identify emerging opportunities across electric mobility, premiumisation and next-generation vehicle platforms.
• Monitor competitor strategies and recommend actions that strengthen the company's competitive positioning.
• Provide strategic market insights to support future investment and product development decisions.
Cross-functional Leadership
• Work closely with engineering, R&D, manufacturing, quality and programme management teams to align customer requirements with internal capabilities.
• Support product development by bringing customer and market insights into the innovation process.
• Ensure seamless collaboration between commercial and technical teams during new product development and customer acquisition.
Joint Venture & Strategic Partner Management
• Collaborate closely with international JV partners to develop successful market entry strategies.
• Facilitate knowledge transfer and ensure alignment between global technology capabilities and Indian customer requirements.
• Support strategic alliances that strengthen the company's long-term competitive advantage.
Leadership & Organisation Development
• Build and strengthen the company's market development capabilities.
• Develop structured customer engagement processes and strategic account management practices.
• Mentor and develop high-performing teams while fostering collaboration across functions.
• Build a culture of customer-centricity, agility and innovation.
Experience & Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering; an MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification would be preferred.
• 15–20 years of progressive experience within the automotive or automotive components industry.
• Demonstrated success in strategic business development, OEM account management or commercial leadership roles.
• Established relationships with leading two-wheeler OEMs such as Hero MotoCorp, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India, TVS Motor, Bajaj Auto, Suzuki Motorcycle India, Yamaha, Royal Enfield and other key industry players.
• Experience working with engineered, technology-driven or value-added automotive products.
• Exposure to new product introduction, platform development and strategic customer acquisition.
• Experience collaborating with global technology partners or joint ventures would be an advantage.
