(TSPL) represents the largest private thermal power facility in North India, with an installed capacity of 1980 MW, contributing nearly 30% of the state’s electricity demand. Meenakshi Energy Ltd. (MEL) in Andhra Pradesh’s Tirupati district has a capacity of 1000 MW, while Vedanta Ltd. Chhattisgarh Thermal Power Plant (VLCTPP) in Singhitarai village, Sakti district, is a 1200 MW coal-based thermal power plant. Roles & Responsibilities
- Manage cases across Civil, Industrial, Commercial, Criminal, Environmental, Mining, Labour, Property & Land Law, including disputes with vendors and third-party suppliers.
- Collaborate closely with external counsels, solicitors, and state and central authorities to achieve optimal legal solutions that contribute to business goals.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, particularly in Environmental, Mining, Industrial, Labour laws, and Tax statutes.
- Draft and vet MoUs, LoIs, contracts, pleadings, affidavits, and other legal documents.
- Provide legal opinions and advice, independently handling labour and property disputes, along with commercial disputes and recovery actions through counsel engagement.
- Focus on reducing and optimizing legal expenses, while generating innovative ideas for P&L gains.
- Support business initiatives through strategic legal and land-related guidance.
- Effectively manage litigation, aligning legal efforts with business objectives, including initiatives for litigation reduction.
Qualification & Experience
- LLB with 16-20 years of experience in the Indian Power Sector and regulations.
- Expertise in navigating complex legal landscapes within the industry.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Strong business acumen, aligning legal strategies with organizational goals.
- Self-motivated, results-driven focus on optimal legal outcomes.
