About the Mission
TruTrade Foundation is building a large-scale livelihood transformation initiative in partnership with the Government of Karnataka focused on empowering street vendors through:
- Electric push-carts
- Digital commerce enablement
- ONDC integration
- Financial inclusion
- Digital payments
- Last-mile commerce infrastructure
- Livelihood enhancement platforms
The initiative aims to create one of India’s most impactful digitally enabled urban livelihood ecosystems.
To support rapid scale and long-term sustainability, we are seeking a highly networked and execution-driven Chief Fundraising & Resource Mobilization Director to lead institutional fundraising, CSR partnerships, philanthropic engagement, and strategic capital mobilization.
Role Overview
The Chief Fundraising & Resource Mobilization Director will be responsible for:
- raising institutional and CSR funding,
- building long-term donor relationships,
- preparing compelling proposals,
- driving strategic partnerships,
- and ensuring timely closure of funding opportunities.
This is an aggressive execution role requiring:
- deep CSR relationships,
- strong proposal-writing capabilities,
- persistence,
- follow-through,
- and extreme ownership.
This role is not limited to introductions or networking.
The successful candidate must personally drive the fundraising lifecycle end-to-end:
- identifying opportunities,
- opening doors,
- building relationships,
- preparing proposals,
- coordinating documentation,
- following up relentlessly,
- negotiating support,
- and ensuring funds are successfully received.
The buck stops with the Fundraising Head for capital mobilization outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
CSR & Institutional Fundraising
- Build and manage relationships with CSR leaders, foundations, philanthropists, family offices, and institutional donors
- Develop a strong pipeline of funding opportunities across India
- Raise funding for:
- livelihood programs,
- digital public infrastructure,
- vendor enablement,
- financial inclusion,
- women empowerment,
- skilling,
- sustainability,
- urban transformation initiatives
Proposal Development & Grant Writing
- Own the end-to-end preparation of:
- CSR proposals,
- grant applications,
- concept notes,
- impact reports,
- donor presentations,
- partnership decks,
- budget documents
- Translate program vision into compelling fundraising narratives
- Customize proposals for each donor/funder
Strategic Relationship Management
- Develop long-term relationships with:
- CSR heads,
- CXOs,
- foundations,
- HNIs,
- impact investors,
- multilateral ecosystem stakeholders
- Represent the organization in meetings, forums, conferences, and fundraising engagements
Aggressive Follow-Through & Closure
- Continuously track proposal progress and decision cycles
- Drive persistent follow-up until closure
- Coordinate with internal teams to provide additional information/documentation
- Ensure commitments convert into actual disbursements
Fundraising Strategy & Pipeline Management
- Create quarterly and annual fundraising plans
- Build and maintain a high-value donor pipeline
- Track conversion ratios and fundraising performance metrics
- Identify new strategic funding channels and partnerships
Impact Positioning & Storytelling
- Help position the initiative as a nationally scalable urban livelihood transformation model
- Develop compelling impact communication and ecosystem positioning
- Align fundraising narratives with ESG, sustainability, financial inclusion, and digital public infrastructure themes
Mandatory Qualifications
- Proven track record of raising significant CSR/institutional/philanthropic funding
- Extensive network across CSR ecosystems in:
- Bengaluru,
- India,
- corporate foundations,
- donor networks
- Strong experience preparing winning fundraising proposals and grant applications
- 10+ years of relevant experience in fundraising/resource mobilization/business development
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
