◆ 2. ROLE OVERVIEW
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will serve as the principal financial steward and strategic business partner to the Managing Director and Joint Managing Director of PSN Group — one of South India's largest multi-brand automobile and construction equipment dealership conglomerates. Operating across a revenue base of multi- Crore and a workforce of approximately 2,000 employees spread across Karnataka, Kerala, and Andhra Pradesh, the CFO will be responsible for the full spectrum of financial leadership: from strategic planning and capital allocation to regulatory compliance, risk governance, and financial transformation.
This is a board-level position demanding exceptional leadership, financial acumen, and the ability to operate with authority across a complex, multi-state, multi-OEM dealership environment. The ideal candidate will have driven financial excellence at a comparable scale and will bring a deep understanding of the automobile and commercial vehicle sector.
◆ 3. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
3.1 Financial Strategy & Leadership
Own and drive the overall financial strategy of PSN Group in alignment with business growth plans of
the MDs
Lead annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, and multi-year financial planning across all divisions and
geographies.
Provide strategic financial inputs for expansion, branch additions, and capital investments.
Serve as the financial voice on the leadership team — advising on margin improvement, cost
rationalization, profitability.
3.2 Financial Reporting & MIS
Ensure timely, accurate, and meeting-ready financial reporting — P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow — across all entities.
Oversee the preparation of consolidated financial statements across multiple legal entities and geographies.
Implement and maintain a robust MIS framework enabling real-time visibility into branch-level and division-level performance.
Drive data-driven decision-making through dashboards, variance analysis, and KPI monitoring at the MD level.
3.3 Treasury, Cash Flow & Working Capital
Manage treasury operations across all states — including fund deployment, banking relationships, and short-term investments.
Optimize working capital across vehicle inventory, service centres, spare parts stock, debtors, and creditor cycles.
Ensure adequate liquidity across branches and divisions while minimising cost of capital.
3.4 Statutory Compliance & Taxation
Ensure full statutory compliance across GST, TDS, Income Tax, PF, ESI, and other applicable regulations in KA, KL, and AP.
Lead direct and indirect tax planning, structuring, and timely filing — leveraging applicable exemptions and incentives.
Oversee external and internal audits; liaise with statutory auditors, tax consultants, and government authorities.
Ensure compliance with all RBI, MCA, and SEBI regulations as applicable; maintain clean audit records.
3.5 Accounts & Controls
Oversee end-to-end accounting operations — accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, and bank reconciliations.
Design and enforce internal controls, SOPs, and financial governance frameworks across all branches and entities.
Lead accounts teams across Karnataka, Kerala, and Andhra Pradesh; ensure uniform standards and cross-branch accountability.
Drive automation and ERP optimisation (Tally, SAP, or AI, DMS-based systems) to improve efficiency and reduce manual errors.
3.6 Risk Management & Governance
Identify, assess, and mitigate financial, credit, and operational risks across the dealership network.
Establish a formal risk management framework — covering inventory write-offs, bad debts, channel credit
Ensure adequate and appropriate insurance coverage across assets, liabilities, and key personnel.
Maintain Board-level transparency on risk positions and mitigation strategies through structured reporting.
3.7 Banking, Investor & Stakeholder Relations
Manage relationships with all banking partners — negotiating credit facilities, OD limits, term loans, and favourable rates.
Interface with OEM financial teams (Eicher, Tata Hitachi) on credit terms, stock financing, and settlement frameworks.
Represent PSN Group in discussions with lenders, NBFCs, insurance partners, and government bodies.
Support any fund-raising, refinancing, or structured finance initiatives at the group level.
3.8 Team Leadership & Development
Lead, and mentor a high-performing finance team of 60+ across multiple states and branches.
Establish clear KPIs, accountability structures, and development plans for the finance function.
Foster a culture of financial discipline, integrity, and continuous improvement across the finance team.
Act as a coach to finance heads — enabling them to manage local complexity within the group framework.
◆ 4. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
4.1 Educational Qualifications
Essential: Chartered Accountant (CA) — mandatory
Preferred: MBA (Finance) from a reputed institution — strongly preferred
Advantage: CMA / CFA / ICWA — additional qualification is an advantage
4.2 Professional Experience
Minimum 25 years of progressive experience in senior finance roles with at least 5 years as CFO or equivalent.
Prior experience handling end-to-end financial operations for an organisation, preferably automobiles with revenues of ₹5,000 Crore or above.
Direct experience in the automobile sector — dealership, OEM, or NBFC/vehicle finance — is highly preferred.
Demonstrated experience managing multi-state operations across South India.
Proven track record of managing a finance team of 40+ employees across geographies.
4.3 Technical Skills
Deep expertise in Indian accounting standards (Ind AS), GST, direct tax, and Companies Act compliance.
Proficiency in ERP systems — SAP, Tally Prime, or automobile DMS platforms
Strong command of financial modelling, MIS design, and management reporting.
Familiarity with channel finance, vehicle floor plan management, and OEM settlement processes.
