About the Hiring Function

Bangalore Times, the vibrant city supplement of The Times of India, is the ultimate reflection of Bengaluru’s pulse — where lifestyle meets entertainment, and city stories come alive. Key responsibilities

• Edit, rewrite, fact check stories filed by reporters
• Give catchy, newsy headlines and plan visual elements for stories
• Curate stories and packages on trending topics
• Coordinate with reporters, designers and other editorial teams
• Work within tight deadlines

Experience

• 6+ years in Editorial/Desk team of a reputed English newspaper or magazine
• Proficiency in InDesign and/or QuarkXPress
• Excellent language skills, attention to detail and a sharp news sense in both the soft and hard news space (especially at the overlap of the two) are non-negotiable.

Educational Qualifications:

Graduation degree in any discipline preferably in English with degree or diploma in journalism/mass communication

Knowledge and Skills:

• Exceptional command of grammar.
• Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Keen attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of accuracy under tight deadlines.
