Job Description – Chief Learning Officer / Chief Content Officer (EdTech & AI)

Role Overview:
We are looking for a visionary and strategic Chief Learning Officer / Chief Content Officer to lead the learning, curriculum, content, and AI-driven education strategy of the organization. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in the EdTech sector, with deep expertise in instructional design, digital learning ecosystems, content development, and emerging AI technologies in education.
This role requires someone who can build scalable learning experiences, drive innovation in content delivery, integrate AI into learning methodologies, and lead large cross-functional academic and product teams
Key Responsibilities:
Learning & Content Strategy
- Define and lead the organization’s overall learning and content vision aligned with business goals.
- Build high-impact, industry-relevant, and outcome-driven learning programs.
- Develop scalable learning frameworks for online, hybrid, and self-paced learning models.
- Ensure content quality, learner engagement, and academic excellence across all programs.
AI Integration in Learning
- Drive AI adoption across learning and content ecosystems.
- Design AI-enabled learning journeys, adaptive learning systems, and personalized education pathways.
- Work closely with Product and Technology teams to integrate AI tools such as:
- Generative AI
- AI-assisted assessments
- AI-based content generation
- Learning analytics
- Intelligent tutoring systems
- Evaluate emerging AI trends and implement innovative learning solutions.
Curriculum & Instructional Design
- Oversee curriculum development, instructional design, and academic innovation.
- Create industry-aligned certification programs and learning modules.
- Ensure learning content remains updated with current market and technological trends.
- Establish assessment frameworks and measurable learning outcomes.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Lead and mentor academic, instructional design, research, and content teams.
- Collaborate with the Chairman, academic partners, corporates, and external stakeholders.
- Build partnerships with universities, industry experts, and technology providers.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration between Academics, Product, Marketing, and Technology teams.
Data & Learning Analytics
- Use learner analytics and performance data to improve engagement and outcomes.
- Monitor learner success metrics, retention rates, and program effectiveness.
- Implement data-driven decision-making across the learning lifecycle.
Key Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Education, Technology, Business, Learning Sciences, or related fields.
- 15+ years of experience in EdTech, Learning & Development, Academic Leadership, or Content Leadership roles.
- Prior experience in a leadership role such as CLO, Head of Learning, Academic Director, Content Director, or similar.
- Strong understanding of AI applications in education and digital learning ecosystems.
- Experience managing large-scale online learning/content platforms.
- Excellent strategic thinking, stakeholder management, and team leadership abilities
Preferred Background:
- Experience with LMS platforms, AI-powered learning tools, and digital content systems.
- Strong exposure to Generative AI tools and AI-driven education products.
- Understanding of instructional design methodologies and learner psychology.
- Strong communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth startup or EdTech environment.
