Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Chief Business Officer role based in Delhi, India. The Chief Business Officer will lead overall business strategy, revenue growth, and market expansion across Verdyra Capital’s lending and financing products. On a day-to-day basis, this role will define and execute go-to-market plans, build and manage strategic partnerships, and oversee business development initiatives targeting entrepreneurs, D2C brands, and digital-first companies. The individual will collaborate closely with finance, risk, product, and operations teams to shape funding structures, optimize unit economics, and ensure a strong balance between growth and portfolio quality. Responsibilities also include leading cross-functional teams, mentoring senior leaders, monitoring performance metrics, and presenting business results and strategic recommendations to the executive leadership and board.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Finance, with experience in lending, structured finance, or financial services, ideally within SME, D2C, or digital business segments.
- Proven track record in Business Development, including sourcing, negotiating, and managing strategic partnerships and high-value client relationships.
- Advanced Analytical Skills, including the ability to interpret financial data, assess risk-return trade-offs, and make data-informed strategic decisions.
- Background in Consulting and/or Management Consulting, with experience shaping growth strategies, improving business models, and driving operational efficiencies.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing cross-functional teams and scaling high-growth businesses.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with evolving priorities.
- 15+ years of experience.
- Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will also be considered.
- Experience in fintech, NBFCs, or digital lending in the Indian market is highly desirable.
- Salary: Up to ₹2 Crore per annum.
