We are inviting applications from accomplished leaders in the General Insurance space for a high-impact mandate:
🕴️ Chief Business Officer (CBO) – General Insurance
This is a full P&L ownership role for a leader who has successfully built and scaled GI businesses across Motor, Health, and multi-channel distribution ecosystems.
🎯 Role Overview
The CBO – General Insurance will drive complete ownership of the business including strategy, revenue, profitability, distribution, partnerships, and execution. This role requires a visionary leader capable of building a scalable, compliant, and high-growth GI business.
📊 Key Responsibilities
Business Strategy & P&L
- Define and execute overall vision, strategy, and AOP
- Own end-to-end P&L (revenue, margins, profitability)
- Drive multi-year growth across Motor, Health, and emerging segments
- Launch and scale new initiatives (products, geographies, embedded insurance)
Distribution & Sales Leadership
- Build and scale multi-channel distribution:
- POSP / Agency | Bancassurance | Corporate | Digital | Brokers | Alliances
- Lead large zonal and regional teams
- Drive cross-sell, renewals, and persistency
👥 Leadership & Organization
- Build and lead a strong leadership bench
- Drive performance culture, KPIs, and governance
- Strengthen partner lifecycle management
- Lead succession planning and talent development
🤝 Partnerships & Ecosystem
- Manage relationships with insurers, banks, NBFCs, brokers, OEMs
- Drive strategic alliances and long-term partnerships
- Engage with board members, regulators, and key stakeholders
⚖️ Governance & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to IRDAI regulations
- Oversee risk, audit, and compliance frameworks
- Drive MIS and leadership reporting
🌐 Customer & Market Expansion
- Drive customer experience, retention, and renewals
- Expand into new markets and segments
- Strengthen brand positioning in the GI ecosystem
🎓 Qualifications
- MBA / PGDM (preferred)
- Graduation in any discipline
- Insurance certifications (IRDAI / AIII / III) preferred
🧠 Experience
- 20+ years in General Insurance (mandatory)
- Prior experience as CBO / Business Head / Vertical Head
- Proven track record in scaling multi-channel GI businesses
- Strong exposure to Motor and Health Insurance
- Experience managing large, distributed teams
- Strong digital and data-driven orientation
