Job Title: Chief Business Officer (CBO)
Reporting To: CEO / Managing Director
Location: India / Global
Experience: 15–25+ years
Role Summary
The Chief Business Officer (CBO) is responsible for driving revenue growth, market expansion, and overall business performance. In an IT company, the CBO leads sales, marketing, partnerships, and customer success, translating business strategy into sustainable growth while ensuring profitability and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Business Growth & Revenue
- Own and deliver revenue, margin, and growth targets
- Drive new business acquisition, renewals, and account expansion
- Lead large and strategic deal closures
Go-To-Market Strategy
- Define and execute GTM strategy for IT services and solutions
- Identify new markets, verticals, and offerings (Digital, Cloud, AI, Data, ERP, etc.)
- Work with marketing on demand generation and brand positioning
Sales & Account Leadership
- Lead Sales, Pre-Sales, and Account Management teams
- Build scalable sales processes, pricing models, and forecasting
- Strengthen executive-level client relationships
Partnerships & Alliances
- Develop and manage alliances with technology partners (AWS, Microsoft, Google, SAP, etc.)
- Drive co-selling and joint GTM initiatives
Customer Success & Retention
- Ensure high customer satisfaction and long-term partnerships
- Collaborate with delivery teams to align commercial commitments with execution
Strategy & Operations
- Contribute to corporate strategy, expansion plans, and M&A evaluation
- Monitor business KPIs, pipeline health, and operational efficiency
- Work closely with CFO on budgeting and financial planning
Leadership
- Member of the executive leadership team
- Mentor and develop senior business leaders
- Represent the company with clients, partners, and industry forums
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience in IT services, SaaS, or technology consulting
- Strong expertise in enterprise sales and business strategy
- Excellent commercial, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Strong understanding of IT delivery and operating models
