Assist in establishing departmental goals, objectives, and strategic plans for Student Support Services and the Office of Student Conduct and Support.

Oversee the development, implementation, and coordination of student conduct and support systems.

Support the implementation of a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) to address behavioral and mental health needs.

Lead district-wide Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) initiatives, including curriculum distribution and professional development for staff.

Oversee the Behavioral Threat Assessment framework, including:
-
Implementation, monitoring, and evaluation across all schools
-
Case consultation and oversight
-
Training for Threat Assessment teams and case managers
-
Collaboration with the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS)
-
Compliance with state legislation and parent notification requirements
-
Development of student support plans
-
Manage and monitor grant-funded initiatives, including:

Coordinate partnerships with:
-

Respond to district-level mental health inquiries, including Let’s Talk submissions.

Lead and support Trauma-Informed Care initiatives, including staff training and team development.
-
Serve as a district representative on community coalitions and partnerships within the City of Chesapeake.

Serve as Co-Lead of the District Crisis Team for significant incidents.

Participate in student and parent meetings related to discipline and support.

Support school administrators with data-driven behavioral interventions and responses.

Provide training for school-based staff and district teams in areas such as threat assessments, restorative practices, and cultural responsiveness.

Collaborate with community and municipal agencies to support student needs.

Stay current on legislation and best practices related to:

Oversee the collection, analysis, and reporting of data related to student conduct and support.

Maintain positive, collaborative relationships with school leaders and stakeholders.

Supervise the development of reports related to discipline trends and student outcomes.

Ensure alignment and compliance with Title IX supportive measures in collaboration with district leadership.

Monitor and ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

Perform other related duties as assigned.
