Job Summary:

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Court Service Coordinator serves as the primary connection between the Reentry Program, court systems, community services, law enforcement and external justice partners. This position supports the effective administration of tribal justice by facilitating communication, coordinating case-related information, and ensuring culturally respectful engagement with court participants. The Court Service Coordinator upholds tribal sovereignty, values, traditions, and court protocols while assisting the court in promoting accountability, healing, and community well-being.

Job Duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Attend Tribal Court hearings as required to provide case updates, documentation, and status reports.
• Coordinate referrals to tribal and community-based services, including behavioral health, substance use treatment, cultural programming, and social services.
• Track court orders, compliance requirements, and timelines in accordance with Tribal Court procedures.
• Prepare and submit written and verbal reports to the court, judges, and court staff.
• Communicate court decisions, expectations, and next steps clearly and respectfully to participants and families.
• Maintain accurate, confidential case records consistent with tribal law, federal requirements, and organizational policy.
• Collaborate with judges, prosecutors, defense advocates, probation, Reentry Program representatives, as well as service and resource providers to support participant success.
• Respond promptly to court inquiries and requests for information.
• Assist with data collection and reporting as required by department, tribal, state, or federal funding sources.
• Other duties as assigned according to best practices and program needs.


LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY
• No supervisory responsibility.

Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university; or six (6) years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Social Sciences, Human Services, Criminal Justice, Psychology, or related field preferred.
• Training, education, or lived experience working/participating in a program or organization serving individuals who are system impacted or justice involved preferred.
• Knowledge of Tribal Court procedures, confidentiality standards, and applicable tribal, state, and federal laws.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.


OTHER REQUIREMENTS
The employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
