Position: Chemistry Expert
Type: Contract / Freelance
Location: Remote
Commitment: 40 hours/week, 4-hour overlap with PST
Engagement Length: 2 months (extendable)
Role Responsibilities
- Design upper-undergraduate and graduate-level Chemistry problems with step-by-step solutions
- Create challenging, exam-quality problems that expose AI model failure modes
- Customize problem sets per specifications (SI units, LaTeX, closed-form answers)
- Convert diagram-heavy or multi-part questions into clear, text-only problems
- Write and verify rigorous solution processes for accuracy and consistency
- Evaluate AI-generated outputs and refine tasks to maintain difficulty standards
- Review and improve Chemistry problems for clarity, correctness, and formatting
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain quality at scale
Requirements
- Master’s degree or PhD in Chemistry or a related field
- Strong experience in Chemistry research, teaching, or content creation
- Strong upper-undergraduate Chemistry background or beyond
- Proficiency in LaTeX (including mhchem and chemfig)
- Excellent attention to detail in stoichiometry, units, and notation
- Fluent written scientific English
- Ability to design text-only problems replacing graphical structures
