A Day in Your Life at MKS:
As a Chemist at MKS MSD, you will execute development activities in partnership with cross-functional teams. You will independently drive R&D projects, propose innovative technical strategies, and ensure high‑quality project execution aligned with departmental and organizational objectives. You will collaborate closely with the team manager, R&D manager, and other technical groups, maintaining clear communication and a strong culture of accountability and innovation. Customer (internal or external) interaction for troubleshooting, process optimization, and on-site support may be required.
You Will Make an Impact By:
- Operation on Electroplating Lab and Line scale equipment
- Conduct Chemical / Materials / Physical Analysis in Lab
- Analysis of reports to bring out effective information for Project
- Project planning as well as follow-up and control of execution through electroplating experiments
- Creation of documents, regulations and reports following ISO norms
- Equipment Maintenance and Calibration
- Conducting advanced testing, analysis, qualification, and validation of products with high technical rigor.
- Collaborating cross-functionally to ensure smooth project progression and milestone alignment.
- Documenting research activities, results, and conclusions according to prescribed formats.
- Driving proactive communication of project status, risks, and technical insights to stakeholders.
- Ensuring best practices in lab operations, safety, 5S, and technical excellence.
- Leading customer troubleshooting, process optimization, and technical site visits as required.
Skills You Bring:
- MSc in Chemistry, with 3+ years of relevant R&D/industrial experience.
- Strong technical depth in organic/inorganic/ electro-chemistry
- Demonstrated experience leading DoEs, experimental planning, and complex problem‑solving.
- Ability to analyze results, draw accurate conclusions, and propose scientifically sound next steps.
- Good communication, collaboration.
- Creative, structured, and methodical approach to technical challenges.
- High ownership, self‑motivation, and ability to drive tasks from concept to completion.
Preferred Skills: (Optional)
- Experience leading R&D projects.
- Strong background in performing lab testing.
- In‑depth understanding of structure–property relationships in organic and inorganic molecules.
- Strong Knowledge of Safety protocols to be followed in Labs.
- Hands‑on experience with customer technical support, troubleshooting, and application development.
