Team Lead - Ruby on Rails

Designation : Team Lead Ruby of Rails.

Location : India Remote.

Reports To : Engineering Manager.

ChartRequest is a fast-growing health tech company on a mission to revolutionize how healthcare data is exchanged.

We specialize in electronic medical record fulfillment, outsourced medical record fulfillment, and referral management solutions.

We are now looking for a Team Lead Ruby on Rails, to join our in-house development team and help drive the next phase of our growth.

Youll work closely with cross-functional teams, lead and mentor a talented group of developers, and contribute to building scalable solutions using technologies like Ruby on Rails, AWS, Docker, and PostgreSQL.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership :
• Guide architecture, design in Ruby on Rails projects.
• Enforce best practices in coding, architecture, security, and performance.
• Database Management :
• Design, optimize, and manage databases using PostgreSQL and MySQL.
• Development :
• Write, review and maintain clean and testable Ruby on Rails code.
• Ensure comprehensive RSpec test coverage.
• Containerization :
• Utilize Docker to ensure consistent environments across development, testing, and production.
• Build and consume RESTful APIs and work within microservices architecture.
• Cloud Infrastructure :
• Deploy, manage, and scale applications on AWS (EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda) and/or DigitalOcean.
• Optimize cloud resource usage to maintain performance and cost-efficiency.
• Team and Project Management :
• Lead and mentor a team of Ruby on Rails developers.
• Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance.
• Collaborate with Product Managers to define and prioritize features.
• Lead agile ceremonies (e.g., sprints, stand-ups, retrospectives).
  
  

Required Qualification

• Bachelors degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 7+ years of software development experience, particularly with Ruby on Rails.
• 2+ years in a leadership or team lead role.
• Proficiency in AWS and DigitalOcean, PostgreSQL, or another relational database.
• Proficiency front-end technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS, React and NextJS).
• Strong understanding of REST APIs and microservices architecture.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly accountable, respectful, and collaborative in team environments.
