Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Chartered Accountant specializing in GST Litigation and Advisory, based in Gurugram. The responsibilities include analyzing and managing GST cases, preparing responses to assessments and Show Cause Notices, representing clients in departmental audits and appellate forums, conducting research on GST laws and regulations, and advising clients on GST-related matters to ensure compliance and mitigate potential risks. The role requires collaborating with clients to develop tailored strategies for resolving disputes and delivering insightful and accurate solutions aligned with compliance requirements.
Eligibility & Qualifications
- Chartered Accountant (CA) – Mandatory
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or related field
- Prior experience in GST litigation will be an added advantage
- Familiarity with the Indian tax and legal environment
Core Responsibilities
- Handle GST audits, assessments, refunds, advisory, and litigation matters
- Draft replies to Show Cause Notices (SCNs) and other departmental communications
- Prepare and file appeals under GST law
- Represent clients in departmental audits, recovery proceedings, and litigation
- Manage client relationships and provide advisory support
- Assist clients during inspection, search, and investigation proceedings
- Prepare reconciliations, workings, and supporting documentation
Functional Expertise
Audit Management
- Lead and manage internal audits and departmental audits (Sections 65/66)
- Coordinate with auditors and ensure timely closure
Assessment Management
- Handle GST assessments under Sections 61, 62, 63, and 64
- Prepare submissions and represent before authorities
Refund Management
- Prepare and file refund applications under Section 54
- (exports, inverted duty structure, etc.)
Technical Skills & Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of GST laws, litigation processes, and departmental regulations
- Expertise in research, case preparation, and legal drafting
- Sound understanding of GST provisions related to audits, assessments, and refunds
- Proficiency in GST returns – GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9, and GSTR-9C
- Hands-on experience with the GST Portal
- Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, data analysis, reconciliations)
