About the Firm
Mukunda Shiva and Associates is a well-established Chartered Accountancy firm providing comprehensive taxation, audit, and advisory services to a diverse clientele including corporates, HNIs, and MSMEs. We are looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented CA to join our Income Tax Litigation and Compliance practice.
Key Responsibilities
Litigation & Appellate Work
· Drafting and filing appeals before the Commissioner of Income Tax (Appeals) [CIT(A)] and the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT)
· Preparing grounds of appeal, written submissions, and paper books for appellate proceedings
· Filing and arguing stay petitions before assessing officers and appellate authorities
· Representing clients in assessments, scrutiny proceedings, and hearings under the Income Tax Act.
· Assisting in penalty proceedings under Sections 270A, 271, and related provisions
· Conducting legal research on case law, CBDT circulars, and judicial pronouncements relevant to client matters
TDS / TCS Compliance
· Preparation and filing of quarterly TDS/TCS returns
· Reconciliation of TDS deducted, deposited, and reflected in Form 26AS / AIS
· Handling TDS defaults, short-deduction notices, and responses to TRACES demand notices
· Filing correction statements and resolving TDS mismatch issues
· Advising clients on applicable TDS rates, DTAA provisions, and withholding tax obligations for non-residents
General Income Tax Compliance
· Preparation and filing of Income Tax Returns (ITR) for corporates, firms, and individuals
· Handling Form Form 145/146 (15CA/15CB) certifications for foreign remittances
· Filing Form 41 (10F), Tax Residency Certificates, and other treaty-related compliance for non-residents
· Assisting with responding to AIS/TIS discrepancies and e-campaign notices
· Coordinating with clients for document collection and maintaining case/compliance trackers
Required Skills & Competencies
· Strong working knowledge of the Income Tax Act, 1961 (Income Tax Act, 2025), TDS provisions, and DTAA basics
· Hands-on experience in TDS return filing, TRACES portal, and LDC applications
· Familiarity with NFAC/CIT(A) online proceedings
· Sound understanding of assessment procedures, disallowances, and additions
· Proficiency in legal and compliance drafting with precision and clarity
· Good command over MS Word, Excel, TRACES, and the income tax e-filing portal
Qualifications
· Qualified Chartered Accountant (ICAI) - Mandatory
· 1–3 years of post-qualification experience in income tax litigation
- Freshers who have handled income tax litigation matters, TDS compliance, CIT(A) filings, or client representations during their articleship are strongly
