Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Chartered Accountant – Fresher role based in the Greater Kolkata Area. Complete & independent responsibility of:
- Maintenance of accurate & up to date accounts in IBD – India and international subsidiaries.
- Timely closure of books, preparation of financial statements in IBD – India and in foreign subsidiaries.
- Reinstatement of financial statements of foreign subsidiaries in line with the Schedule III
- Consolidation of financial statements
- Timely quarterly review and annual audit of financial statements of foreign subsidiaries. Ensuring timely submission of deliverables by foreign auditors to the group auditors.
- Analysis of quarterly / annual results and explanation of variances for reporting to the audit committee/ board of directors.
- Promptly answering queries raised by corporate finance and group auditors
- Maintenance of Transfer Pricing records & getting audit done
- Ensuring statutory compliance in IDB – India and in foreign subsidiaries
- Ensuring compliance with FEMA in IBD India
- Attending to secretarial matters in IBD HO and in international subsidiaries
- Any other work might be necessary from time to time
Qualifications
- Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification from a recognized institute, with sound knowledge of accounting standards and financial reporting.
- Articleship from Big 4 accounting firm or post qualification experience in the Assurance team of a Big 4 accounting firm.
- Strong foundation in general accounting, ledger management, and preparation of financial statements.
- Basic understanding of taxation, statutory compliance, and audit processes.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and familiarity with accounting or ERP software.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Capacity to learn quickly, adapt to structured processes, and manage multiple tasks within deadlines.
- Internship or article-ship experience in finance or accounting will be an advantage; interest in FMCG or consumer goods sector is beneficial.
