About the role
Join CERN's Electrical Engineering Group, within the Engineering Department (EN), as a Electrical Engineer you will contribute to the coordination of Long Shutdown 3 (LS3) installation projects. With over 3,000 km of cables and 100 MCHF of electrical equipment to be installed on a tight schedule, you will optimize resource leveling, streamline planning, and ensure seamless execution. Collaborating with engineers, technicians, and contractors, you will play a key role in delivering CERN's world-class infrastructure efficiently and on time.
As an Electrical Engineer, you will:
* Assist in detailed LS3 planning, ensuring the integration of installation schedules using EL Planner. • Support high-level LS3 planning, collaborating with EL Coordinators to maintain and update schedules.
* Support project and maintenance teams in structuring and inserting tasks within the planning tool.
* Ensure data consistency and quality, proactively monitoring and proposing corrections when needed.
* Prepare reports and dashboards, tracking project progress, manpower allocation, and work status.
* Contribute to manpower planning and monitoring, tracking hiring needs and workforce availability.
* Monitor contracts and procurement, tracking invitations to tender and risk assessments.
About the company
At CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, physicists and engineers are probing the fundamental structure of the universe. Using the world's largest and most complex scientific instruments, they study the basic constituents of matter - fundamental particles that are made to collide together at close to the speed of light. The process gives physicists clues about how particles interact, and provides insights into the fundamental laws of nature.
