About the role

The Wealth Planner- Estate Planning Associate develops, consults on, and assists with implementation of matters related to estate, tax, and financial planning for clients. In this role, you will also develop a comprehensive understanding of financial planning, including investments, business planning, income tax planning, risk management and retirement planning. The Specialist will engage, maintain, and improve client relationships, and relationships with external advisors, including attorneys and CPAs.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Reviews and analyzes estate plans, estate tax and distribution strategies and monitors wealth transfer vehicles.
  • Conducts tax and estate research, as appropriate, and develops financial analyses and plans. Makes generally accepted recommendations to team, and may make recommendations to clients.
  • Attends client meetings and provides additional comprehensive planning services to clients, including: asset allocation, wealth management, retirement planning, education funding, income tax planning, investment planning, stock option analysis, executive planning, and business succession planning.
  • Coordinates with team and external advisors, including attorneys and CPAs, for implementation of recommendations.
  • Accountable to the core team; ensuring that client and team tasks are completed.
  • Monitors and communicates legislative changes impacting estate planning and innovative planning strategies.
  • Must have or pursue an advanced planning, tax or investment designation (see below).
  • Responsibility Breakdown:
    • Estate Planning Associate: Mastery of common estate planning strategies, participation in client meetings and understanding of COI relationships.
    • Estate Planning Senior Associate: Mastery of complex estate planning strategies, running client meetings, implementation of estate plans/updates, coordination with internal/external advisors and responsible for building/maintaining COI relationships.
Required Qualifications

  • Experience:
    • Estate Planning Associate I: 0-3 years
    • Estate Planning Senior Associate: 3-5 years
  • Bachelors degree required, with concentration in finance or accounting preferred
  • JD, CPA, CFP preferred
  • Attentive to detail and organization
  • Professional and poised communicator, with excellent presentation skills
