Position Summary
The System Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, optimization, and ongoing support of client infrastructure within a managed services environment. This role focuses on server, network, cloud, and security engineering, acting as an escalation point above the Technical Support team while also contributing to projects, standards, and long-term client success.
Key Responsibilities
- Engineer and support Windows Server and Microsoft 365 environments
- Support virtualization, backup, and disaster recovery platforms
- Configure and support firewalls, switches, and wireless networks
- Act as escalation for advanced technical issues
- Lead infrastructure and migration projects
- Maintain documentation and technical standards
- Automate tasks using scripting and MSP tools
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in IT or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of IT experience, preferably within an MSP
- Strong experience with Intune, Azure, Windows Server, Microsoft 365, and networking
Preferred Certifications
- CompTIA Network+
- CompTIA Security+
- Microsoft or vendor certifications
