About the role

ANRF-funded role investigating locus coeruleus norepinephrine dynamics in synaptic plasticity The Jain Lab at CHINTA, TCG CREST (Kolkata, India) invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher to study behavioural timescale synaptic plasticity in CA1 neurons, with a focus on sex-specific differences in locus coeruleus (LC)-mediated norepinephrine signalling. This project integrates patch clamp electrophysiology, optogenetics, and two-photon imaging to dissect LC-CA1 circuit mechanisms in vivo. More details about the Jain lab can be found here: https://sites.google.com/view/… Resources: Access to cutting-edge facilities, including two-photon microscopes and optogenetic setups. Scope Investigate how LC norepinephrine release drives synaptic plasticity during learning tasks. Compare plasticity dynamics between male and female models. Develop novel experimental paradigms combining optogenetic LC stimulation and two-photon calcium imaging. Techniques: Hands-on training in slice electrophysiology, in vivo imaging, and behavioral assays. Collaboration: Opportunities to work with computational neuroscientists and molecular biology teams.
