Description
Bargains Galore is seeking a motivated and service-oriented Assistant Thrift Store Manager to support daily store operations and help lead a team of staff and volunteers. This role plays a key part in creating a welcoming shopping experience, maintaining an organized and well-stocked store, and supporting efforts to meet sales and operational goals.
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, enjoys working in a team environment, and is passionate about serving others through meaningful work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership on the sales floor by serving as manager-on-duty as needed, including occasional weekends
- Support overall store operations and step into leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Store Manager
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and well-merchandised store environment
- Oversee pricing and merchandising processes to ensure consistency and quality
- Supervise and support assigned departments, helping ensure efficiency and strong presentation
- Recruit, train, and support staff and volunteers, fostering a positive and productive team environment
- Assist in coordinating daily operations, including workflow, staffing, and production needs
- Engage with customers and donors, providing excellent service and building positive relationships
- Support marketing efforts, promotions, and community engagement initiatives
- Jump in where needed—this is a hands-on role that requires flexibility and teamwork
Requirements
- Experience in retail, customer service, or team leadership preferred
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to lead, coach, and support a diverse team of staff and volunteers
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new systems
- A positive attitude and commitment to delivering great customer experiences
