The Assistant Director, Outreach position assists in the development and execution of a comprehensive recruitment plan to build relationships with prospective Central Piedmont Community College students through enrollment. This role serves as the lead for adult learner recruitment, developing targeted strategies, partnerships, and engagement efforts that support enrollment growth among adult, returning, and non-traditional students. The position also provides leaders for corporate and non-curriculum recruitment initiatives, serving as the primary liaison for workforce partners, corporate training programs, and continuing education pathways.
Additionally, the Assistant provides supervisory leadership for the full-time member responsible for campus tours and the student ambassador program, ensuring effective coordination, training, and operational execution.
This position may require working weekends and after regular business hours.

1. Serves as the primary lead for adult learner recruitment, focusing exclusively on attracting new adult learners (e.g., working professionals, returning students, career changers, and underserved populations).
2. Provides strategic leadership for recruitment related to high-demand technical programs; partners with Academic Affairs to identify program priorities, labor-market-aligned messages, and annual specialty tour objectives.
3. Participates in on and off campus recruiting events to promote Central Piedmont and increase student interest and enrollment, including activities held during daytime, evenings, and weekends.
4. Utilizes the College’s CRM system to manage prospective student interactions, track engagement, and support recruitment activities; collaborate with CRM power users to ensure accurate data entry and effective use of available tools.
5. Supervises a full-time staff member who coordinates campus tours, student ambassadors, and related outreach activities; provides guidance, performance feedback, training, and support to ensure consistent, high-quality engagement with prospective students and community partners.
6. Represents the college at community events and educational forums (employers, workforce boards, libraries, nonprofits, faith-based and civic organizations) to promote adult learning opportunities and technical/workforce pathways.
7. Directs the development of specialty campus tours for technical programs (e.g., skilled trades, IT/cyber, health careers) to showcase labs, simulations, and hands-on learning; ensures alignment with workforce pathways.
8. Assists with the development of collaborative relationships with local schools, colleges/universities, community agencies, and organizations as they relate to the implementation of the campus recruitment plan.
9. Works closely with internal Central Piedmont personnel to coordinate overall recruitment opportunities effectively (e.g., Marketing, program staff, campus leadership, academic chairs).
10. Conducts all activities within FERPA guidelines.
11. Provides assistance to community organizations and school partners regarding career pathways and opportunities for students to earn credentials prior to high school graduation.
12. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and one year of related work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Education, Public Administration, or a related field.
Experience in community college outreach, enrollment management, or workforce environments.
Experience collaborating with academic departments, marketing teams, and external partners
