Duties
Lead and direct the development, implementation, and oversight of consumer protection policies under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and No Surprises Act (NSA), including transparency in coverage, appeals, and external review programs.,Provide executive leadership for division operations, including strategic planning, workforce management, and performance oversight.,Oversee interagency coordination and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure consistent policy implementation.,Direct the evaluation and alignment of policies and procedures across CMS components to ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.

In order to qualify for the GS-15 grade level, you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: 1. Leading the development, interpretation, or implementation of complex health policy or regulatory programs, including consumer protections, health insurance oversight, or transparency requirements under federal/state legislation (e.g., ACA, No Surprises Act, or similar); AND 2. Directing or overseeing large-scale, cross-functional programs with executive-level leadership responsibilities, including strategic planning, resource management, or performance oversight; AND 3. Coordinating with senior officials across federal agencies, state governments, and external stakeholders to develop and implement policy initiatives and program strategies; AND 4. Advising senior leadership through briefings, policy analysis, or recommendations on complex, high-impact program issues. If selected for an interview, a writing sample may be required. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
